How to Install Renault CAN CLIP V192 on Windows 7
This guide walks step by step through installing Renault CAN CLIP V192 and setting up the diagnostic probe. Following each step exactly is essential to avoid installation issues or probe recognition problems.
✅ Mandatory prerequisites
Before you start, make sure all of the following are true:
- Operating system: Windows 7 — 32-bit only
- Administrator rights on the Windows session
- Antivirus temporarily disabled (for the entire installation)
- WinRAR required for all extractions
📥 Step 1 — Downloading and preparing the files
Download the software
Download the following archive:
Can Clip V192_0_2_0.rar
Extract the software
- Right-click → Extract with WinRAR
- Extract the contents to a standard folder on your computer (e.g. Desktop or Documents)
Download the support files
Also download the archive:
CAN CLIP Support Files (-V212).zip
Extract the support files
- Extract with WinRAR only
- Don't change the folder structure
🔧 Step 2 — Installing the CAN CLIP software
- Open the extracted CAN CLIP V192 folder
- Before installing anything, run:
01. Renault CLIP.reg→ accept the registry addition - Then start the installation via the setup file
- Accept the driver installation when prompted
- The computer will restart
🔐 Step 3 — Software activation
Go to the folder:
C:\CLIP_X91\Lib\Application\
Launch the file RSRWin.exe — original version.
Click on “Register me now”.
When asked the next question, choose “NO”.
Carefully write down the displayed Serial Number.
Key generation
Launch one of the following tools from the KEYGEN folder:
- Renault CLIP TOOL
- Renault Can Clip Registration
Generate the key using the serial number.
Enter the key in RSRWin.exe.
Confirm.

🔌 Step 4 — Probe recognition patch (RTL2002)
To ensure the RTL2002 probe is properly recognized:
- Go to the folder:
C:\CLIP\Config\ - Replace the following files:

- Use the versions provided in folder

🚗 Access to vehicles older than 2005
To enable access to older vehicles:
- Copy the file
IsoDrv.dllfrom folder03 - Paste it into:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\SAGEM SA\
🔹 Connecting the CAN CLIP probe
Before opening CAN CLIP:
- Plug the OBD2 cable of the CAN CLIP probe into the vehicle's OBD port
- Turn the vehicle's ignition on (position ON, engine not running)
Then connect the CAN CLIP probe to the PC via USB.
Checking that everything works
- Both red LEDs on the probe should light up
- When CAN CLIP launches, both green LEDs should light up as well
- You can confirm the probe is properly detected in Windows Device Manager — two devices should appear:

You can now launch CAN CLIP normally.
